NYC Chinatown Raid – Ryan Investigative Group

Bill Ryan, of the New York based Ryan Investigative Group, participated in an anti-counterfeiting raid in New York’s Chinatown a week ago where hundreds of counterfeit goods were seized and several people were arrested.  “Knock-offs of Big Brands continue to be an issue here in New York and all over the world” said Ryan amid a booty of counterfeit handbags and other apparel.

“Counterfeit goods are a billion dollar enterprise where the rings are run by organized crime. People think it’s harmless to buy a knock-off items but they don’t realize that the revenues from these sales fund other criminal enterprises such as human trafficking, prostitution, narcotics, and arms smuggling.”  Ryan continues “the NYPD and Department of Homeland Security work hard to thwart these crimes and we are honored to assist them in busts like this.”

Ryan’s final message is for tourists visiting NYC: “Just don’t buy them! Visit 5th Avenue or 57th Street and buy the real thing.”
